Stanley (Stan) Reitzner age 86, Mountain, WI formerly of Appleton, passed away April 28, 2009 at the NuRoc Community Health Care Center, Blackwell, WI. He was born in Appleton Nov 21, 1922 to the late Nicholas and Mable (Hickinbotham) Reitzner. On September 25, 1943 he married Myrtle (Mert) Robertson and together they enjoyed over 63 years of marriage.
Stan was a boxer winning the Wisconsin Golden Gloves Championship in 1942. Joining the Navy in 1944, he continued his boxing career, winning the Gulf Coast Championship.

Stan worked for Kimberly Clark Corp (Kimtech Plant) as a machinist for 27 years retiring in 1980. He and Mert then relocated to the Mountain area where he lived his dream for 25 years. In retirement, he owned a machine shop in which he made numerous creative projects including a windmill. He also raised horses, ducks, rabbits and bees. Stan loved outdoor activities especially bow-hunting. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who always had time for his family. He was our mentor and friend.
Stan was a man of many words and ideas, enjoying a good discussion until Alzheimer’s robbed him of those talents for the last 5 years. His most memorable quote was, “the trouble with the world is it’s full of people!”

Stan was preceded in death by his loving wife Mert, his parents and his brother Lloyd.
