Obituary:
Myrtle Alice King-Pfeiffer, age 91, a life long resident of Crandon, passed away at the AGI Health Care Center, Crandon on Sunday, May 3, 2009. Myrtle was born in Crandon January 15, 1918 the daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Tromp) King.

On May 11, 1940 in Crandon she married Harry J. Pfeiffer. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1982.

Myrtle owned and operated the Red Owl Grocery Store, worked for the Forest County Commission on Aging and was also a waitress. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and was an avid Packers, Badgers and Brewers fan. Myrtle was a life long member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she also taught Sunday school.

She is survived by:

Daughter: Lorraine (Bob) Ferris, Waukesha

Granddaughter: Tiffany (Erik) Lorenz, Mukwonago

Great Grandsons: Brendan and Owen Lorenz

Sisters: Audrey (Clifford) Bonack, Crandon
Alda (Ronnie) Brooks, Cavour

Brother: Edward King, Mt Pleasant, MI

In addition to her husband, Harry and her parents, Edward and Anna she is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brigette Zoeller; great grandson, Dakota Zoeller; sisters, Luella Lundt, Ruby Carter, Lorraine Conley, Arlene King, Marie Borg and Caroline Smith; brothers, Lester, Oliver, Elmer and Norman King.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 6 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Crandon. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Eric Vertein officiating. Interment will be at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery. Online condolences to www.weberhillfuneralhome.com
