Prospect, Illinois went to the Lord Wednesday, July 22, 2009 with his family at is side, following a short illness. Joseph was born April 7, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph W. and Florence (Clifford) Ruffing. He married Sally Krause in Chicago, Illinois in 1969. Joe was in the insurance business for 39 years, being owner of his own agency for the last 20 years. He enjoyed his work, talking to people he knew or strangers came easy to him and he enjoyed “getting folks out of their shell” by way of conversation. He loved the country’s fresh air & the Town of Crandon. Joe loved his family and relatives, but the Lord above all. He was an avid reader and enjoyed a good mystery movie. He loved the singing of Elvis & Johnny Cash, but rated Elvis his most favorite and his favorite color was yellow. Joe is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sally Daughter: Julie (Dennis) Zolidis, Schaumburg, IL Sons: Jason (Kate) Ruffing, Bainbride Island, WA Mark Rake, St. Charles, IL Grandchildren: Zachary and Jackelyn Zolidis; Katharyne and Nathaniel Rake Also survived by several brothers & sisters-in-law Further survived by his special cousin, Betty. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27 from 5:00-8:00 p.m at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home, Crandon and again on Tuesday, July 28 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Praise Chapel Community Church, Crandon. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Farr officiating. Interment will be at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery.
